Female student Network Trust (FSNT) has a mandate to ensure that girls in Tertiary Education Institutions (TEIs) are empowered and equipped with skills relevant to their learning and existence in their institutional settings. The #smartgirls campaign refers to girls who are not just physically smart but have intellectual intelligence. The objectives of the smartgirls campaign stems from the need for female students to understand the nature and forms of sexual harassment in TEIs.
FSNT launched the UNESCO Project through an All Stakeholders Consultative Conference held at ZESA Training Centre on the 23rd of September 2016. Thirteen (13) Tertiary Education Institutions (TEI’s) and over 50 female students drawn from the 10 provinces of Zimbabwe were in attendance. The main aim of the event was to roll out a strategic plan informed by the buy in of stakeholders including college authorities, partners, female students as well as the line ministries that the Network works with.
