In partnership with ZIMACE, FSNT is implementing a groundbreaking initiative focused on enhancing student-led advocacy for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in tertiary institutions across Zimbabwe.
Spanning 2025–2026, the project seeks to:
- Strengthen female students’ capacity to demand accountable health governance.
- Boost participation of young women in institutional decision-making on health.
- Support campus-level advocacy platforms that amplify the voices and rights of students.
Planned Activities Include:
- Policy Audits: A professional analyst will review institutional Health and Gender Policies to identify existing gaps and generate an evidence-based audit report for reform.
- Provincial Vice Chancellor Dialogues (x5): Co-hosted with the Zimbabwe Gender Commission and university leadership to co-create supportive SRHR governance frameworks.
- Accountability Platforms (x5): These interactive forums will empower students—especially in faith-based institutions—to challenge harmful SRHR restrictions through solidarity and dialogue.
- High-Level SRHR Health Fair: A national networking event that bridges students with key ministries and partners; the UK Ambassador will be invited as a guest of honor.
- Policy Brief Development (x5): Female students, supported by legal partners like WILSA, will be mentored to research and draft briefs on critical SRHR issues.
- Her Health Information Sharing & Learning Hubs (x5): These campus-based hubs will provide SRHR education, peer support, and linkage to care—including maternal health, STI testing, abortion care, and mental health services.
- Social Media Blitz: A dynamic digital campaign to extend SRHR advocacy across platforms and campuses.
The project is already building momentum toward safer, healthier, and more just campus environments—where female students claim their right to informed, dignified care.
