Today, we introduce you to Evernice Munando, the visionary founder and Executive Director of Female Students Network (FSN), whose leadership has helped shape a bold movement for gender justice in higher and tertiary education in Zimbabwe.
Evernice founded Female Students Network in 2005, with the organisation now working across 43 institutions in all 10 provinces, equipping female students with leadership skills, mentorship, psychosocial support, and advocacy platforms to challenge inequality and promote safer, more inclusive learning environments.
Under Evernice’s leadership, Female Students Network received international recognition through the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education, reflecting the organisation’s sustained contribution to empowering young women and advancing gender-responsive change. What stands out in Evernice’s journey is her commitment to building both individual confidence and institutional transformation, ensuring that female students not only find their voice, but also influence the systems around them.
